The Tenants Advice and Advocacy Service provides free, independent information, advice, advocacy and referrals to tenants in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
Important information in regard to the potential spread of COVID-19
The Tenants Advice & Advocacy Service has taken a proactive approach to the potential spread of COVID-19. The office is closed for the time being and no face to face advice will be provided in this time. However, our advice line continues to operate on the following days:
Our advice will be limited to the following matters:
- threats of or actual eviction;
- hearings in the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal;
- domestic violence;
- urgent repairs relating to electricity/water supply or damage from fire, flood, storm; serious health or safety issues.
Non urgent matters will be referred to Fair Trading 133220. We will continue to advise social housing tenants but there may be delays in providing a service. Referrals from community organisations will be assessed on a case by case basis
Our Facebook/Instagram pages will provide regular updates. Tenants can also go to www.tenants.org.au or use the link below for easy to use fact sheets on common tenancy issues

All tenants are welcome to call our Service on 02 6621 1022 or 1800 649 135. Eligible tenants will be allocated an appointment to speak with a tenant advocate. Non eligible tenants will be referred to Fair Trading, or another Service.
We also take referrals from other Services in the Northern Rivers.
